1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Zanera collects when you use our website and game server, why we collect it, and how it is handled. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here, alongside our Terms of Use and Rules.
2. Information We Collect
| Email address | Used to create and secure your account, send essential account emails (such as password resets), and, if you opt in, our newsletter. |
| Password | Stored only as an irreversible hash. We cannot see or recover your actual password. |
| Character & account data | Character names, in-game activity, statistics, and progression, needed to operate the game and enforce our Rules. |
| IP address | Logged for account security, abuse prevention, and enforcement of the multi-client and cheating-related Rules. |
| Session cookie | An essential cookie that keeps you logged in. |
| Referring link | If you reach us through one of our own links (for example an ad on Facebook, Instagram or TikTok), a cookie remembers only which link it was, such as "facebook", for up to 30 days. If you register, that label is saved with your account so we can see which of our ads bring in players, and the cookie is removed. It contains no identifier, is never shared with the ad platforms, and we do not use advertising or tracking pixels. |
| Partner link | If you arrive through a partner’s link, a cookie remembers only that partner’s referral code for up to 30 days. If you register, the account is credited to that partner and the cookie is removed. The partner sees how many players signed up through their link and how many bought coins, never who they are. |
| Partner requests | If you apply to become a partner, we store the channel link and message you send, and our staff’s decision, so a gamemaster can review it. |
| Payment information | Handled entirely by Stripe when you buy Zanera Coins. Zanera never receives or stores your card details. |
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to: create and maintain your account; authenticate your login sessions; operate, secure, and improve the game and website; detect and act on violations of our Rules; send you necessary service emails; send you our newsletter if you have opted in; and process Zanera Coins purchases. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
4. Third-Party Services
We share the minimum necessary data with a small number of trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:
| Stripe | Processes Zanera Coins purchases. Receives your payment details directly; Zanera only receives confirmation that a payment succeeded. |
| Brevo | Delivers the emails we send you, such as your registration email, recovery keys, and password resets. Receives your email address and the content of those emails. |
These providers are only permitted to use your data to perform services for us and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited records (such as an email or IP address) to enforce bans and prevent ban evasion, or where retention is required by law.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the official Zanera website or other official communication channels.
